Eliminating food insecurity for children on Mount Desert Island, Maine one backpack at a time
What we do:
The MDI Backpack Fundraiser is a nonprofit organization hosting raffles and auctions to raise the funds to put food in the hands of children facing food insecurity on MDI.
Who it’s for:
Every Friday, extra food is sent home with kids whose parents are battling job loss or financial hardship.
How it works:
Schools nominate families in need. We purchase food and package it into backpacks. Your funds make it happen.
How you can help:
Purchase a raffle ticket or make a donation and sign up to receive emails about future events.
